I have been using an iPhone 7, it is one of the best camera I've ever used. And with anti-shake mechanism it is unlikely to not get a good picture, no doubt has a much more sensitive camera and the auto-focus, exposure are very good. The HDR feature is limited but is good.
I tend to used Hugin for panoramic and HDR picture merging. It is one of the better tools but can take some time to get what I want. It is a Linux program but there is also a Windows version.
